Understand The One Of The Worlds Most Popular Poker Game  -  Omaha Hi / Lo Poker

Omaha Hi / Lo Poker is similar to  regular the Omaha Poker game,  except the table pot  amount is split between a high hand (the
same as in the ordinary Omaha Poker game) and a low  poker hand (which is based on  five cards, which start  at eight or  below.
The players are dealt four poker cards face down, and five poker community cards that everyone at the poker table can see and
use. Each poker player  must use two of their  cards, as well as three  of the  poker community cards  on the table, to make  their
hand. The Omaha Hi / Lo game  is  divided into  four rounds  of betting,  and the betting  moves around  the table in  a  clockwise
direction from the dealer button. The  betting will start  from the position  next to the dealer button, which  moves one place to the
left after each  hand is played. In  online poker games, the  dealer button basically  replaces the real dealer  at the table. If two or
more poker  players are in a tie from  holding an equally strong  winning five-card hand, the table pot amount will be split between
the tying poker players. If there is an odd chip, it is given to the winner of the high poker hand.

Omaha Hi / Lo Poker  -  The Blinds

Ahead of Omaha Hi / Lo Poker game starting, the two poker players that are to the left of the dealer button will post blind bets, so
-called  because they are made before the  poker players have seen  any of the poker cards. The blinds basically guarantee that
there is some money in the table pot amount to play for at the initial stages of the Omaha Hi /Lo Poker game. The poker player to
the left of the dealer button posts the small blind, and the poker player to their left will post the big blind.

Omaha Hi / Lo Poker  -  The Betting Rounds

Pre-flop - The poker player to the  left of the dealer button  is forced to  post the small blind. The  player to the left of him, or two
to the left of the dealer button, will be forced to post  the big blind. Two poker cards are dealt to  every player face  down, starting
with the  small blind. The action  then  begins with the  poker player  to the left of  the big blind, who  must decide to  fold, call  (by
putting in the low limit bet), or  raise (by putting in  twice the low limit bet). Action  then proceeds clockwise  around the table.  The
small blind may call (assuming no poker players  has raised) by adding the  other 1/2 of the low limit  bet they was  already forced
to put in. The big blind may simply check (assuming  no poker players has  raised), as they have already put in the full size of the
first round bet.

The Flop - Three poker cards are dealt face up in  the middle of the poker table.  In this round, and  in the following  two  rounds,
the poker player to the left of the dealer button will be the first to act. Play then proceeds in a clockwise manner around the poker
table. All bets and raises must be equal to the low limit bet size of the table.

The Turn - A fourth  poker card  is dealt face  up in the  middle of the  poker table.  Play then  proceeds as  in the round  before,
except now all bets and raises must be equal to the table’s high limit bet size.

The River - A fifth (the last card laid on to the poker table) poker card is dealt face up in the middle of the poker table. Play then
proceeds as in the round before. All bets and raises must be equal to the table’s high limit bet size.

Showdown - Any poker players  who has not folded after the last round of betting will have the option of showing their hand and
possibly  winning  the  table pot  amount. The  person who  bet last  will be  first to  show  their  poker hand, and then  it proceeds
clockwise  from  there, with  each remaining poker player either  choosing to show their hand, or muck it. A poker player will often
muck their hand if they are not going to win  the table pot amount, and  don’t want their poker table  opponents to see  what  they
have played.

Chop - In a Omaha Hi / Lo poker game  where chopping is  allowed, if there are no callers, the two poker players who posted the
blinds will have the option of having their bets returned to them and moving  on to the next poker  hand. Both poker players must
agree to the chop for it to work this way.

Straddle - In a Omaha Hi / Lo poker game where straddling is allowed, the poker player to the left of the big blind may choose to
raise before looking at their poker cards. This is considered a live bet, which means that poker player may  choose to raise again
when it is their turn, regardless of whether any other poker players has re-raised.

Kill Pot - In a Omaha Hi / Lo poker game where kill pot is allowed, a  poker player may choose to  post an over-blind that is equal
to twice the size of the big blind, and effectively doubles the betting limits.
